Raleigh: North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, 1982. 160 pp. Watts's illuminating report, prepared when he headed the North Carolina Division of Archives and History Underwater Archaeology Branch, includes historical background, description of the wreck, description of equipment and work, handling and description of artifacts, conclusions, and recommendations. There are also sections on artifact inventory, abstract of dive logs, relish sample analysis, and coal sample analysis. The report is richly illustrated with color photos and drawings. Cook was director of operations for the Harbor Branch Foundation, and Kenneth Morris was the conservator, under contract from the New York Division of Historic Preservation, Peebles Island Collection Grove Center.
