PS2384.B3 Melville wrote four poems on the Battle of Hampton Roads and the Monitor. They are: "The Cumberland (March, 1862)," "In the Turret," "The Temeraire," and "A Utilitarian View of the Monitor's Fight." This collection has been reissued by four publishers. The edition published by Scholars' Facsimiles & Reprints of Gainesville, FL, in 1960 or the University of Massachusetts Press of Amherst, in 1972, both edited by Sidney Kaplan of the University of Massachusetts, most useful. Kaplan provides an informative introduction to the work. Will be most useful to historians.
